Product Overview
Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Coil (GI) is a high-performance steel product manufactured by continuously hot-dip galvanizing cold rolled steel substrates. After annealing and reduction, the substrate is immersed in molten zinc, forming a dense zinc-iron alloy layer and pure zinc layer, providing excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, and cost-effective comprehensive advantages. Galvanized steel coil is a widely used long-term anti-corrosion material in construction, home appliances, automotive, transportation, and other industries.
Product Features
1:Excellent Corrosion Resistance
The zinc layer acts as a sacrificial anode, corroding preferentially to protect the steel substrate. The dense and uniform galvanized coating firmly bonds with the substrate, significantly extending product service life. Depending on coating weight and environment, corrosion resistance can be several to dozens of times longer than ordinary steel sheets.
2:Good Formability
While maintaining the excellent mechanical properties of the substrate, galvanized steel coil features good coating adhesion. The product can accommodate various processing methods including stamping, bending, drawing, and roll forming, with minimal coating flaking or powdering, meeting the processing requirements of complex formed parts.
3:Various Surface Finishes
Various surface finishes are available according to customer requirements:
Regular Spangle: Naturally formed zinc crystal patterns, aesthetically pleasing
Minimized Spangle: Fine and uniform spangles, smoother surface
Zero Spangle: No visible spangles, uniform surface appearance
Passivation: Surface passivation film, improves resistance to white rust
Oiling: Anti-rust oil protection for sea freight and long-term storage
Anti-Fingerprint: Organic coating, fingerprint-resistant and scratch-resistan
4:Stable Dimensional Accuracy
With high-precision rolling and galvanizing process control, the product maintains excellent dimensional accuracy in thickness, width, and flatness. Strict coating uniformity control ensures stable performance throughout the coil.
5:Good Weldability
Galvanized steel coil features good weldability, suitable for common welding processes such as spot welding and arc welding. Special process design minimizes zinc vaporization and spatter during welding, ensuring welding quality.
